Hi I’m Luisa.
I’m a language graduate; I studied French and German at university in England. I also spent time living in Italy and learning Italian during my gap year. I’ve always been interested in learning languages and the history and development of my own language, which is one of the reasons why I decided to become an English language teacher. Immediately after qualifying I had my first teaching experience working for a language school in Lisbon for 5 years. I then moved to the border zone of France and Switzerland where I spent 6 years teaching mainly business English to company students in Geneva. Since 2008 I have worked at International House Torres Vedras. What I really enjoy about working here is the family feel of the school, everybody is kind, friendly and supportive. I’ve also had the opportunity to learn and grow both as a teacher and a person during my time here and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have met some wonderful people along the way.
In my free time I enjoy reading, travelling and going to art galleries. I also do yoga, cycle and enjoy walking to relax. As I’m keen on learning about different cultures, I love trying out different recipes from around the world too.
