Hi, I’m Diana.
I’m originally from the UK, and I have been working as an English language teacher since 1981, having spent two years travelling around Europe and the Middle East. I started teaching at IH in Cairo, and then moved to Lisbon in 1984, where I trained to be a Teacher Trainer and then Director of Studies.
Monica and I opened IH Torres Vedras in 1990, and in my current role I work with Caroline, our Director of Studies, and oversee teacher development, curriculum planning, and exam administration, as well as our CELTA and Delta Cambridge teacher training courses. I’m also a Team Leader for speaking examiners of Cambridge Examinations.
One of the things I love about my job is getting to know our students, from the youngest Kiddies to our adult students. Having been part of the school since it opened, it’s wonderful to still have contact with many of the people who came to us in the first years of the school, who now send their children and even their grandchildren to study with us!
On a personal note, when I’m not working, I love listening to audiobooks and podcasts and gardening. And I enjoy keeping fit by going to the gym twice a week. I love going for weekend breaks to the Alentejo, and going back to Britain as a tourist and visiting parts of the country I never went to as a child. I also love dancing, and I’ll always hit the dance floor whenever there’s punk music playing!
