Hello! I’m Emma.

I’m a teacher here at International House, Torres Vedras. I first came to live and teach in Portugal in 1994 after doing the then, CTEFLA at International House, Lisbon. I can’t believe over 30 years have passed since then! Every year brings different challenges, but it’s especially rewarding to see how many students stay with us on their English learning journey and watch them go from beginners to advanced.

I’m a Cambridge speaking examiner for all the exams and I have a lot of experience teaching primary and pre-school age children, too. The fact that every year I teach a variety of classes with different ages and levels is what keeps me on my toes and learning.
