Hi, I'm Monica.

I was born a very long time ago in Vancouver, Canada where my parents had emigrated in the early 1950’s. I grew up on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands and then moved to the southwest of England.
I came to Portugal in 1985. I had only intended to stay for a month, but I fell in love with the country and the people and here I am still! Diana and I opened International House Torres Vedras in 1990, and we both hope that we have become part of the local community – we have met and taught so many lovely students and their families over the years.

We acquired International House Lisbon in 2017 with the aim of preserving and further developing excellence in teacher training.

I like gardening, cooking, eating good food, reading, house renovation and chatting.
